If you’re a foodie, stepping into a farmers market at the height of tomato season is your version of a kid in a candy store.
The nice thing is, you can have that experience almost year-round in Oregon. The farmers market scene has exploded here, and nary a day goes by between spring and fall that you can’t find a parking lot, park or spare field overflowing with farmers and their bounty. Head toward the country, and you won’t go far before running into roadside stands offering just-picked corn and heirloom tomatoes, or farms where you can grab a bucket, stroll into the fields, and fill it with the berry of your choice. In Oregon, farmers are rock stars, and our palates do a little hero worship with every passing season.
